Abstract
There were carried out in infection status of Nematods in marine fish such as myriasters, squids, frog flounders, anchovies, mackerels, alaska pollaks, yellow corvinas, puffers, hair tail fish and harvest fish caught from the sea area in all the world from 1991 to 2001.
The Anisakids and Goezidae were morphologically classified after fixation in 10% formalin, and then stain in acetocarmin and clearing in lactophenol solution.
The results obtained were as following.
The Nematods infected in 10 kinds of marin fish were morphologically classified into 5 genus with Anisakis sp., Contracaecum sp., Terranova sp., Raphidascaris sp., and Goezia sp. in 2 family with Anisakids and Goezidae.
Total of 22,687 larval Nematods were collected from 1,926(39.4% positive rate) out of 4,885 examined marine fish. Infection rates of Anisakids in hair tail fish were increased according to length of the fish and were differentiated by sea area even though the same kind of the fish.
The number of recovered worms by marine fish were 1,849 in the myriasters, 297 in the squids, 101 in the flog flounders, 171 in the anchovies, 11,235 in the mackerels, 1,884 in the alaska pollaks, 4,386 in the yellow corvinas, 129 in the puffers, 2,176 in the hair tail fish and 459 in the harvest fish and infection rates of Nematods were 70.0% in myriasters, 53.6%, 27.3%, 6.9%, 89.2%, 83.0%, 89.1%, 36.1%, 63.0% and 39.0% of each fish, respectively.
Infection rates and infected number of Nematods according to organs of marine fish were infected 50.0% with 11,347 in the omentum, 14.5% with 3,308 in the pancreas, 12.7% with 2.892 in the intestine, 5.1% with 1,168 in the liver, 4.9% with 1,120 in the caecum, 4.7% with 1,061 in the testis. 4.2% with 963 in the ovary, 3.1% with 705 in the muscle and 0.53% with 122 n the stomach, respectively.
On the basis of the above findings, the larvae in the organs of marine fish may infect a human who enjoy raw fish.
